REVIEW: NOCO GENIUS1,Fully-Automatic Smart Charger

Updated: Sep 23, 2020

Replacing a motorcycle battery is so much fun. My Honda requires me to remove my seat, move the cables on top of the battery (out of the way), take off the battery cover, disconnect the terminals, get my sausage fingers (or should say finger) on one side of batter and a finger on the other and tryyyy to lift it out of its cocoon. After several attempts and some special magic words, it comes out. Then the exact same process in reverse.

In case you couldn't tell I was being a smart ass when I said it was fun.

The other day I park my bike at home and used the kill switch to stop ( I never do that , I always put it in Neutral, kickstand down, then turn the key off, and remove.). For some reason be it stupidity or whatever, I used my kill switch. and went inside.

I woke up early the next day (it was Labor day holiday), I packed my saddlebags with a sleeping bag, my drone, and rainsuit ( see my review on rainsuits), I was taking off to the Carolina's to cruise some mountain roads. Jumped on my bike,,dead. pissed off. Saw I left my key turned on all night.

I did 2 things immediately, went to amazon and research and purchased 2 items. A battery charger and motorcycle jumping cables.

There were better chargers available but I ain't rich, so i picked the one with the best rating in my price range. NOCO GENIUS1 for around $30.00 was the one i picked.

I plugged it in and attached to my battery. I did take a long time before it charged completely. I left it alone for 24hrs (and borrowed my cousins truck). This little guy did the trick. It was super simple to use , just pick the 12volt and the type of battery and your done.

If your looking for a charger that is affordable and works. this is the one for you. I hope you never use it and it rots in your tool shed, but unfortunately, You will probably need it.
