Easy to make and super cheap. NOT FOR THE LOW CARB OR WATCHING YOUR FIGURE
Potatoes or French fries in wedges,are spicy and floured potato chips, which will give it a touch of crunch and extra flavor. They are an excellent alternative to conventional french fries, to add as a garnish to any dish you can think of. Also, they are as simple and easy to do as these. The spices are fully customizable, and you can add and remove as many as you want. To your liking But the ingredients that I used to make some potato wedges or French fries are the following:
2 medium potatoes (heck,you got 2 racks in the oven and some aluminum foil. line the racks with foil and double or 4x the recipe and to heck the with baking sheets) 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon thyme 1/2 teaspoon rosemary 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper (omit if your a cry baby) Oil
RECIPE OF THE POTATOES OR FRENCH FRIES IN GAJO: 1.- Without peeling the potatoes, we cut them lengthwise, in half. Then we cut each half into wedges. We will get 4 segments of each half, approximately.
2.Wash the potatoes . Soak them for a few minutes to remove dirt from them and excess starch. Removing the starch from the potatoes is a good idea if we are going to fry it. They are more crisp and stick less to each other during frying
3.drain the water from the potatoes and fry them in plenty of oil. The oil should cover completely. And it shouldn't be too hot. Rather, at medium temperature. . Let it fry at that temperature for about 7 minutes
4.- remove them from the oil and let them cool completely. about, 5-10 minutes
5.- When they are cold, put the rest of the ingredients on a plate. As I was saying, the spices are fully customizable.
6.- Add the potatoes and stir well, with your hands, so that they are well covered with the whole mixture.
7.- We fry again. This time at high temperature. About 180ºC. After about 3 minutes, when they are well browned, remove and place on absorbent paper Potatoes or French fries in wedges are as easy to make as conventional fries.
